FAQs & Advice

The following people can register a death:

  • Any relative of the person who has died
  • Any person present at the death
  • A person who lives in the house where the person died
  • The person arranging the funeral (This cannot be a funeral director)

A funeral can usually take place within 2 weeks, depending on when we receive the paperwork from the medical examiner or coroner.

Funerals arranged with Lilley Funeral Directors can be paid by bank transfer with your online banking or by taking our invoice to your or your loved ones bank. We do accept cash however, there are additional fee’s when paying by cash. You can also apply for funeral payment help from GOV.co.uk, and we can accept payment directly from them or other life insurance policys.
